Instagram revealed on Monday that users can now listen to song previews directly in Stories when tracks are shared from Spotify.

Previously, Instagram let users share Spotify songs to their Stories, but these posts had no audio and only included a link to the track on Spotify. Now, when someone shares a song, viewers can hear a preview directly within the app.

This minor but meaningful update simplifies music sharing and discovery by letting users stay within the app.

New Spotify Integration Enhances Instagram Notes with Real-Time Music Sharing

This update follows a recent feature added to Instagram Notes, which now lets users stream songs from Spotify directly, allowing followers to see and explore their current music tastes in real time.

These new features may help establish Instagram as a key platform for music discovery, potentially boosting user engagement. Expanding its music tools could also help Instagram better compete with TikTok, which currently leads the way in shaping global music trends.

Instagram also shared on Monday that it will introduce new fonts for Stories and Reels throughout the year. Kicking things off, the platform is launching a limited-time font based on the handwriting of singer-songwriter Rosalía.
