Just when foldables seemed to have hit their limit, one smartphone maker is taking things sky-high—literally.
Introducing OPPO’s Find U, the ultimate “smart umbrella.” It takes cues from flagship foldables but goes way beyond.
The Find U’s 4K Canopy and Flexion Hinge
OPPO says the Find U uses the Find N6’s Flexion Hinge, rated for 600,000 folds. Its faux-leather canopy hides a 4K display inside, letting you scroll through your feed while staying dry. Judging by the UI, it’s probably running Google’s Android Umbrella OS.

You can long-press the handle to switch the umbrella’s color, snap photos with its built-in cameras, or even unlock it with your fingerprint.
Solar Charging, Self-Drying, and AI Micro-Thrusters
It gets even wilder: “Solar Mode” turns the canopy into a charger, a self-drying function shakes off water at 60,000Hz, and AI-controlled micro-thrusters provide wind resistance and a gentle push of up to 0.5G.
Of course, it carries IP56, IP58, and IP59 ratings—because one just isn’t enough.
Even OPPO’s Pete Lau joked, “I don’t remember approving this.”
The Find U is set to “launch” on April 31—a date as fictional as the umbrella itself.
