
Artificial intelligence has already become part of kitchens, workplaces, and creative environments. Now, it is entering the bathroom through an unusual innovation: a toothbrush that detects the spaces between teeth and automatically directs liquid jets toward them.
Introduced on September 1, 2026, the Dyson CameraJet combines a macro camera, AI, and a targeted jet system to clean between teeth as users brush.

According to Dyson, the conical jet was selected because it removed more of this test plaque than the narrower streams commonly used in oral irrigators. However, the comparison took place in a laboratory and relied on specially developed testing material.
The level of engineering behind the device is considerable.
Dyson says the CameraJet required six years of development, involving 661 engineers and 30 dental professionals, and generated 38 patent applications.
Beyond the AI technology, the company created an oscillating bristle system that helps keep the bristles moving even when pressed against the teeth. Its charging base can also recharge the toothbrush and refill its liquid reservoir in roughly three seconds.
Specially Designed Oral-Care Products Keep the Camera Clear
The product range also includes non-foaming toothpaste and low-foaming mouthwash, specifically designed to keep bubbles from blocking the camera’s view.
The CameraJet offers an interesting example of a growing trend in consumer technology: computer-vision systems trained for a highly specific task and directly connected to a physical action.
Here, the AI does not need to chat, write text, or create images. Its job is much narrower: continuously identify the spaces between teeth and activate the cleaning mechanism at exactly the right moment.
