Apple Endorses California’s Right to Repair Act for Independent Device Fixes

Public Interest Research Group (PIRG), an advocacy organization, remarked on Apple’s surprising change in stance. Apple, which was once prominently against such laws, has now embraced the Right to Repair movement.

PIRG, a key participant in this movement, highlighted that similar laws have been enacted in a few other states within the US.

Empowerment of Consumers and Environmental Responsibility

Liz Chamberlain, a representative from the repair advice platform iFixit, emphasized that the significance of the Right to Repair Act extends beyond the provision of repair tools and parts. It fundamentally empowers consumers to make eco-conscious decisions regarding their devices.
