As Apple gets ready to reveal iOS 19 at WWDC 2025 on Monday, numerous rumors have emerged—ranging from a possible name change for the OS to a complete redesign influenced by the Vision Pro, and more.

Possible Rebranding

According to Bloomberg, Apple intends to shift from version numbers to year-based naming for its operating systems. As a result, iOS 19 could be rebranded as iOS 26, following a naming convention similar to car model years. This change is expected to extend across other platforms as well, including iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26.

Significant Visual Redesign

Expected to be the biggest design update since iOS 7, the new operating system may undergo a full visual refresh, reportedly influenced by Apple’s Vision Pro headset, according to Bloomberg. This redesign could feature translucent navigation panels and circular app icons. Apple aims to apply this visionOS-inspired look across all its platforms to deliver a more unified user experience.

Enhanced Battery Optimization

Apple may enhance iPhone battery health through  AI-powered battery management. This feature monitors usage patterns and optimizes settings to extend battery life. Additionally, a new charging icon will display on the lock screen, indicating the estimated time until the battery fully charges.

Another rumor indicates that reverse wireless charging is being tested on the iPhone 17 Pro models, enabling users to charge accessories like AirPods or the Apple Watch directly from their iPhone.

How Is Siri Evolving?

A significant omission from the rumors is the advanced Siri capabilities showcased in Apple’s 2024 presentation, which demonstrated a more context-aware assistant capable of gathering information and performing tasks across multiple apps. Apple announced in March that these new features have been delayed.
