Amidst the changing landscape of CES, where automotive and enterprise tech now prominently feature alongside consumer brands, Nanoleaf, renowned for its geometric LED lighting, unveiled a range of innovative products that underscore its commitment to consumer tech innovation.

Navigating the World of Smart Light Controls

Nanoleaf is making waves with its Sense+ Controls, branding them as its first “learning smart light switches.” This lineup includes the Smart Light Switch (hardwired), the Wireless Smart Light Switch, and the Nala Learning Bridge.

All three products operate with Matter, the smart home interoperability protocol, and harness the low-power mesh networking standard, Thread.

Each Sense+ Controls device boasts motion and ambient lighting sensors to facilitate automated routines. The Nala Learning Bridge, in particular, doubles as a color-changing night light, exuding a gentle glow.

Meet Nala: Intelligent Lighting Assistant

Nala, the star of Sense+ Controls, is an intelligent assistant that aims to learn user preferences based on interactions and programming of Nanoleaf products within the home.

Running on the Nala Learning Bridge or an existing Nanoleaf Thread Border Router (accessible via a firmware upgrade), Nala creates personalized automation and handles actions like light control, brightness adjustments, color changes, and scene selection.

Nanoleaf 4D: Transforming TV Backlighting

Nanoleaf introduces Nanoleaf 4D, an ambient backlighting kit compatible with Matter, designed for large-screen TVs. This system utilizes an LED light strip and a camera to extend on-screen content by illuminating corresponding LEDs.

Nanoleaf 4D offers four screen modes with 50 addressable zones on a five-meter light strip. It simplifies installation with snap-on brackets and adhesives.

Sync+ Technology: Unifying Lighting Experiences

Nanoleaf 4D comes equipped with Nanoleaf’s Sync+ technology, enabling synchronization with other Nanoleaf products on the same network. Sync+ mirrors on-screen content on Nanoleaf 4D and other Nanoleaf lighting fixtures while synchronizing colors and animations, creating a seamless visual experience.

Nanoleaf Skylight, designed for Matter compatibility, offers a modular flush-mount ceiling fixture in a square RGBW LED form factor, boasting 16 million colors.

Multiple Skylights can be combined to create overhead designs and feature adjustable brightness, colors, color temperatures, and scheduling options. Additionally, it acts as a Thread Border Router and includes Sense+ sensors for motion and light sensing.

Enriched Lighting Animations

Nanoleaf introduces Matter-certified Essentials Bulbs and Lightstrip, offering captivating animations tailored for various activities. Existing Nanoleaf users can look forward to Matter compatibility across the full range of modular light panels and light bars later this year.

The Sense+ Controls line and Skylight are slated for release in Q3 2023, with Essentials Bulbs and Lightstrip anticipated in Q1. Nanoleaf 4D will arrive in Q2 in two length options: 55″-65″ and 70″-80″. Pricing details are yet to be disclosed.
