Although LinkedIn users have generally embraced AI, one feature hasn’t caught on as much as expected: AI-generated suggestions for refining posts, says CEO Ryan Roslansky.

It hasn’t caught on like I expected,” he told Bloomberg. Roslansky suggested the reason is that posting on LinkedIn carries more weight—“this is your resume online.” Users risk real consequences if a post appears obviously AI-generated.

The High Stakes of Posting on LinkedIn

Getting called out on X or TikTok is one thing,” he said. “But on LinkedIn, it can seriously affect your career opportunities.”

Roslansky also pointed out that LinkedIn has experienced a sixfold rise in job postings demanding AI skills over the past year, and a twentyfold increase in users listing AI skills on their profiles.

He added that he personally relies on AI when communicating with his boss, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella: Every time I email him, I use the Copilot tool to make sure I sound ‘Satya-smart.’
