Insta360 has revealed a new 360 camera, named The Sphere, developed especially for the DJI Air 2 and Air 2S.

The accessory works similar to the company’s previous 360 cameras, with two wide-angle lenses directed in opposite directions, which are then stitched together to produce 360-degree video and photos.

However, the lenses are not on opposite sides of a camera body; rather, they are on a harness that straps to the body of the Mavic Air 2.

The space between the lenses means that the 360 camera system can record footage while having the drone become basically invisible, allowing the surroundings to be seen from all angles.

Not only those this accessory open a range of creative shooting opportunities, but it also won’t disrupt the Air 2’s onboard camera, acting as a complementary second angle.

There may be a concern regarding strapping a third-party gadget to your drone; however, Insta360 says it uses an ultra-secure locking system that does not affect the drone’s structural integrity. It additionally guarantees us that the Sphere will not obstruct the GPS reception or remote control link.

The Insta360 Sphere can capture video at as much as 5.7 k 30fps and take 360-degree pictures with a resolution of 6080 x 3040.

If you’re an Air2 or Air 2S owner, it is available for $429.99. just offered to customers in the United States and mainland China, for now.
