Google introduced its Pixel 10 lineup — the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL — on Wednesday during its Made by Google event. All three models run on the new Tensor G5 chip. A standout upgrade this year is the base Pixel 10, which now includes a triple-camera system for the first time. Meanwhile, the Pro versions received more incremental enhancements to their processors and camera sensors.

Pixel 10 Upgrades Camera System with Telephoto Lens, Enhanced Zoom, and Improved Low-Light Performance

The Pixel 9 featured just wide and ultra-wide cameras, but the Pixel 10 adds a new telephoto lens, offering 5x optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom using Super Res Zoom. The base model also includes a 48MP wide sensor with quad phase detection for faster, improved low-light focusing, alongside a 13MP ultrawide lens.

The Pro models now feature a new 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor with optical image stabilization and support for Super Res Zoom up to 20x for video. They also come equipped with a 50-megapixel telephoto lens that offers 5x optical zoom and enhanced Super Res digital zoom reaching up to 100x.

Screen sizes remain unchanged across the lineup: the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro both sport a 6.3-inch display, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL retains its larger 6.8-inch screen. Google noted that all models now use a new “Actua” display, delivering peak brightness levels of up to 3,300 nits on the Pro models and 3,000 nits on the base Pixel 10.

All Pixel models are equipped with Google’s latest Tensor G5 processor, paired with the Titan M2 security chip and an upgraded image processing unit. According to Google, the new chip delivers a 34% boost in CPU performance and a 60% increase in TPU (Tensor Processing Unit) speed compared to the previous generation, enabling quicker performance and support for more advanced AI capabilities.

AI Features

Last year, Google debuted Gemini as the default assistant on the Pixel 9, introducing tools like Pixel Studio for AI-driven image generation and a revamped screenshot app.

This year, Gemini Live has been enhanced to support visual overlays during video-based interactions. With this upgrade, the assistant can now highlight specific areas on the screen—such as signs or directions—to provide real-time visual guidance.

Google is introducing a new feature called Magic Cue, designed to pull in relevant contextual information from across your apps. For example, if you’re on a call with an airline, it can retrieve your flight details from your email, or pull up a restaurant reservation while you’re messaging a friend.

Another new addition is a Gemini-powered camera coach, which offers real-time guidance within the camera app, suggesting improvements in framing and composition to help you capture better photos. Other updates include real-time call translation, transcripts for missed or declined calls via call screening, and expanded integration of Notebook LM with both the screenshot app and the recorder.

Pricing for the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro remains unchanged at $799 and $999, respectively. However, the Pixel 10 Pro XL now starts at $1,199—up from $1,099—with base storage upgraded to 256GB.
