The iPhone has long excelled at photography, but selfies still rely on the phone’s less powerful front camera. This newly spotted case fixes that by adding a second, mirror-like screen.
The Selfix case for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max may look like a standard TPU cover, but its back actually features a circular 1.6-inch AMOLED touchscreen. This gives you far more control when framing selfies and lets you use the phone’s powerful rear camera.
As a result, you can capture ultra-wide group shots or zoom in for detailed portraits. You’ll also get sharper results in both normal and low light, thanks to the 48-megapixel rear camera system and its larger sensor, instead of relying on the 18-megapixel front camera.

From Bold Designs to a Smarter Selfie Case
Many phone makers have tried to tackle this issue over the years, experimenting with designs like flip-style devices such as the Motorola Razr, phones like the Xiaomi 17 Pro with a small display around the rear cameras, and the Samsung Galaxy A80, which featured a sliding, rotating camera module. Phone design really pushed the boundaries back then.
As for the Selfix case, here’s where it gets even more interesting. In addition to the secondary display, it connects to your phone via USB-C and boosts storage by up to 2 TB thanks to a built-in microSD card slot. That gives you plenty of space for all those extra selfies, along with large videos that would otherwise fill up your phone’s internal storage.

Convenient Carry and Comfortable Grip Features
The Selfix case can also accommodate a crossbody strap, making it easier to keep your phone within reach for photos on the move. It also features a magnet around the display, allowing you to attach a ring accessory for a more comfortable grip and less strain on your fingers.

There are a few downsides to consider. For one, you can’t record video directly to the Selfix case’s memory card, as that would require a more advanced storage expansion module. Dockcase, the company behind the case, chose to skip this feature to reduce heat and power usage.

Another drawback is that you can’t wirelessly charge your iPhone while the case is on, as the rear screen creates too much distance for MagSafe to work properly. That said, the case does offer pass-through charging of up to 45 W via USB-C.
Selfix Case: Colors, Pricing, and Add-Ons
The Selfix case for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max comes in white, black, and pink. It’s expected to retail for $129, though it’s currently available for $79 during its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. Optional add-ons like crossbody straps, microSD cards, and magnetic ring holders are also available with your pledge.

As with any crowdfunding project, there’s always some level of risk, so it’s worth keeping that in mind before backing it. That said, Dockcase has been making gadget accessories for several years and has successfully launched and delivered more than a dozen products on the platform, including docks and hubs.
If everything goes as planned, orders are expected to ship worldwide in May. You’ll also be able to view shipping costs for your country when selecting your reward during the pledge process.
