Microsoft Bing announced Monday the launch of Bing Video Creator in its app, allowing users to generate videos from text prompts using OpenAI’s Sora model.
Sora Becomes Freely Accessible for the First Time via Bing
Although OpenAI has restricted Sora’s video generation to paying users, its integration with Bing now makes it accessible for free for the first time.

At launch, Bing Video Creator doesn’t support desktop, and generating videos can take hours—even in “fast” mode, which aims to deliver results in just a few minutes.
Free Video Generation with Microsoft Rewards Integration
Anyone logged into a Microsoft account can use the Bing app to create up to 10 video clips for free. After that, each video costs 100 Microsoft Rewards points. To earn these points, users can search with Bing or shop at the Microsoft Store. For example, Bing awards 5 points per PC search, with a daily cap of 150 points.
Users can queue up to three video generations of 5 seconds each at a time, with no option yet to adjust the video length.Currently, the tool only generates videos in a vertical 9:16 aspect ratio, likely encouraging users to share them on platforms like TikTok or Instagram. However, the platform is evolving; soon, it will also support horizontal 9:16 uploads, expanding its flexibility and usability across more formats.
