Delving into the depths of the underwater world can be both thrilling and tiring. Utilizing an underwater scooter could extend your exploration range and uncover new wonders, with the latest offering from China’s LeFeet currently gaining traction on Kickstarter.

Established in 2018 with a fervent love for the ocean and a collective desire to explore its wonders, LeFeet has introduced previous products such as the S1 and C1. The company proudly notes that its products are now available in over 180 US outlets. However, before adding the P1 to their lineup, another crowdfunding campaign is in progress.

Innovative Features of the Newest Scooter Model

Initially equipped with a single motor, the newest scooter model has the capability to be converted to dual-motor functionality. It boasts being 30% more compact than the S1 Pro and includes a standard 100-Wh battery, offering up to one hour of use per charge.

Additionally, there’s an option for a 160-Wh battery, which can provide faster speeds of up to 2.3 m/s and potentially an extra thirty minutes of scooting time. Both battery choices charge using USB-C.

The P1 is constructed with a waterproof aluminum frame and is certified for depths of up to 60 meters (approximately 197 feet). A primary design goal was to prioritize maneuverability in confined environments such as caves, shipwrecks, or coral reefs. It comes with a wireless remote for easy navigation and adaptability, starting at a weight of 2.3 kg (5 lbs). The dimensions are 314.5 x 87.5 x 80 mm (12.4 x 3.4 x 3.15 in) for the standard configuration, slightly longer with the optional XR battery.

Versatility and Portability

The description mentions that the compact underwater scooter can function as carry-on luggage for airline travel, providing convenience for your upcoming diving vacation. Various accessories enhance its versatility, including a tank mount, leg mount, action camera mount, SUP mount, and a dual rail kit for added enjoyment. Additionally, Lefeet mentions that a “quick-release attachment method enables effortless mounting onto boats, paddleboards, and kayaks” as well.

Kickstarter Pledges and Rewards for the P1 Underwater Scooter

Kickstarter pledges for the standard P1 currently begin at $719, offering a 40% discount compared to the anticipated retail price. Opting for the XR variant adds an extra $200, and there are also options for dual setups and additional accessories as part of the perks and add-ons. While crowdfunding typically requires caution, if everything progresses as planned, we project that shipping will commence from June. As an appreciation to existing customers, those who have previously purchased an S1, S1 Pro, or C1 can receive a complimentary 100-Wh spare battery during the campaign duration.
