LG Introduces 5K2K Display Featuring Thunderbolt 5

LG reveals what it claims is the first 5K2K computer monitor equipped with Thunderbolt 5 ports, delivering ultra-fast data transfer, seamless device connectivity, and laptop charging—all through a single cable.
Professional-Grade Display for Superior Productivity and Visuals
Designed for professionals, the UltraFine 40WT95UF features a 40-inch 21:9 IPS panel with 5,120 x 2,160 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 99% DCI-P3, HDR600, 5ms response time, 2,000:1 contrast, and 450 nits brightness.
The display includes several useful organization features like picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes to simplify multitasking. The company says financial analysts can view large datasets and charts simultaneously, while IT professionals can use the expanded screen to manage code, design schedules, and content analysis.

LG
While Thunderbolt 3 and 4 offer data transfer speeds up to 40 Gbps, Thunderbolt 5 doubles the speed to 80 Gbps and delivers up to 96 watts of power to charge connected laptops.
Comprehensive Connectivity and Smart Features for Seamless Use
The monitor doubles as a USB hub with USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, DisplayPort 2.1, and RJ45 ports. It supports keyboard/mouse sharing, daisy chaining to cut cable clutter, and has an ambient light sensor for auto brightness and color adjustment.
As I type this on a 30-inch 4K display, I can’t help but feel a bit of screen envy while wondering if I can stretch my budget for LG’s latest UltraFine addition.Unfortunately, the company has yet to announce pricing and availability details.
