Privacy-Ensuring Mask Designed for Secure Confidential Calls

The Skyted mask has been specifically crafted to safeguard the confidentiality of calls, ensuring a secure environment for private conversations. For those engaging in frequent confidential phone conversations, resorting to covering your mouth and speaking softly is a less than optimal method for preserving privacy. This is precisely where the Skyted Silent Mask aims to be effective.

Cone of Silence

Similar to a portable rendition of the “cone of silence” featured in the TV series Get Smart, the Skyted is produced by a French startup bearing the same name. While the authenticity of comparable products has been doubted previously, this particular one was developed in collaboration with Airbus, the European Space Agency, and France’s ONERA national aerospace lab (Office National d’ Études et de Recherches Aérospatiales).

The Gadget

Indeed, the gadget incorporates the LEONAR (Long Elastic Open Neck Acoustic Resonator) lining material developed by the latter organization. Initially designed to diminish the noise from jet engines, the LEONAR technology, when integrated into the mask, purports to absorb 80% of the user’s voice frequencies.

How it Works

A built-in microphone captures the user’s voice within the mask and wirelessly transmits it to their iOS or Android smartphone using Bluetooth. The user receives the other person’s voice through their personal third-party headphones or earbuds. Additionally, the mask not only prevents external noises from overpowering the user’s voice but also incorporates an electronic amplification system that can be employed to enhance the transmitted volume of their voice when necessary.

Ventilation System

Certainly, there’s a ventilation system that purportedly enables unrestricted breathing for the user. Moreover, if the user wishes to converse with someone nearby while on a call, they can temporarily mute the call, allowing their voice to be projected through the mask’s external speaker. A single 1.5-hour charge of the mask’s lithium battery is asserted to provide approximately 10 hours of usage.
