In a brief video posted by BMW’s Middle East branch, the German auto manufacturer has revealed its Dune Taxi, a four-wheel all-electric drive that opens a world of options for the future.

Before diving into the specifics of the vehicle, just look at that superb driving. While not the same as we see in the movies, the tension is well present. The short video showed us more than we thought we would see in a 4min and 41sec video. It might not have pushed you to the edge of your seat, but what is on display is impressive. Take a Look!

The video provides details regarding the EV itself. We can see that the body is made from Natural Fibre Reinforced Polymer, a plant-based product comparable to carbon fiber. And under it, 536 horsepower.

The Taxi drives well on and off the road, and during the clip, the Dune Taxi meets its competition, the X6 competition SUVs that have been repping sand and asphalt for some time now and pack more horsepower and torque in their engines.

The video reveals that the Dune Taxi, driven by rally racer Abdo Feghali, and the Red Bull Driftbrothers X6s go one-to-one to show BMW’s technologies. Afterward, the electric 4×4 gives them the slip, resulting in its next target, a 984-foot-tall dune, Tal Moreeb.

The dune isn’t a simple beast to conquer, as several YouTube videos have shown in the past. However, even the 50-degree slope of the dune is easy pickings for the Dune Taxi, which will get anyone thrilled about this off-road vehicle.

Where the fun ends

A video of such intensity and with the BMW brand plastered throughout would certainly get everyone interested in what the firm has prepared for the future. Last week, IE reported how its sixth-generation batteries could easily exceed the 620-mile (1,000 km) range, and the firm was working to make its batteries greener.
