The BoltLite modular multi-tool combines essential items like pens, flashlights, and pry bars into a waterproof titanium body. It offers the flexibility to be carried as a single unit or separated into individual pieces as needed.

TiMate, the creators of the Wayfinder mini flashlight, are behind the BoltLite modular multi-tool, which is currently featured in a Kickstarter campaign.

The Versatile Flashlight Feature

However, the BoltLite boasts its own flashlight, offering High (120 lumens) or Low (20 lumens) output modes with a simple twist of its head. Additionally, it features a 300-lumen Flashing mode for visibility in urgent situations.

With a magnetic base, the flashlight can be detached from the BoltLite and securely affixed to any ferromagnetic surface. A single 40-minute USB-C charge provides up to four hours of use, typically in Low output mode.

The ballpoint pen’s nib remains retracted when not in use but is easily deployed with a bolt-action mechanism, reminiscent of a rifle, adding a unique touch to the writing experience. Compatible with LAMY M22-type refills, the pen features an etched spiral pattern on its exterior for enhanced grip.

The Versatile Pry Bar

Situated between the flashlight and the pen is the pry bar, accessed by unscrewing the BoltLite in the middle. Beyond its primary function of prying off lids and similar items, this versatile tool can also serve as a flat-head screwdriver and a box opener.

Multi-Tool Attachments and Options

The pry bar also features a hole for attaching it and the magnetic flashlight to a keychain, excluding the pen. Alternatively, a detachable dual-direction clip allows the complete BoltLite to be hung from a pocket or belt. Additionally, like many titanium multi-tools on Kickstarter, the BoltLite offers two slots for optional vials of glow-in-the-dark tritium.

To conclude, with a claimed weight of 61.6 grams (2.2 oz), the entire tool is IPX8 waterproof, capable of enduring submersion to 1 meter (3.3 ft) for 30 minutes. However, upon reaching production, backers can obtain one for a pledge of US$75, with the intended retail price set at $99. The tool’s functionalities are demonstrated in the accompanying video
