Wait a Minute – this 12-Function Multitool Does More Than Just Serve as a Smartphone Stand

Smartphone stands are useful, but why carry around a tool that’s only good for holding your phone? The TriPro Stand offers much more, incorporating features like a blade, bit drivers, a knife sharpener, and more.
As you may have already assumed, the TriPro Stand is a) made from Grade 5 titanium and b) currently available on Kickstarter. It is produced by AlloyX, a Chinese outdoor gear company.
Design of the TriPro Stand
To pack in at least 12 functions (or more, depending on how you define a function), the device is made up of three magnetically connected rectangular parts. The central piece is flanked by two narrower pieces on each side.

When it’s time to use the stand, the two side pieces are detached from the Central Piece, connected at a right angle to form a V shape, and then placed flat on a desk or another surface. The smartphone is then slid into the two slots—one in each piece—securing it in either a vertical or horizontal position at a 45-degree angle.
Features of the Central Piece
The Central Piece also includes a magnetic compartment to store three 1/6-inch steel bits, a magnetic bit driver socket for these bits, a tungsten steel stud for breaking windows, a slot for sharpening knives, a magnetically held SIM card ejector pin, and a replaceable foldout stainless steel surgical blade.

Together, the side pieces also feature a pry bar/nail puller, 1/4- and 1/6-inch hex driver holes, two sizes of spoke wrenches, and four slots for user-provided vials of glow-in-the-dark tritium.
The entire device weighs approximately 56.5 grams (2 oz).
If the TriPro Stand goes into production, you can secure one with a pledge of US$69. The planned retail price is $99.
