X is actively working to make xAI’s Grok model more accessible to users. Several users reported that they can now tag Grok in replies and ask questions to receive explanations about a post.

Previously, Grok was available via a sidebar button, and users could also click the Grok button next to posts to have the AI analyze both text and images—a capability introduced last year.

Perplexity’s AI-Powered Automated Responses on X

For the past few weeks, AI-powered search engine Perplexity has been operating an automated X account with a similar functionality. Users can ask questions about any post on the platform and receive an automated response within minutes.

AI companies are continually working to make their models more accessible. Unlike other AI models, Musk-owned xAI’s Grok chatbot was initially accessible only through X. However, since early this year, the company has introduced new access points, including a standalone Grok app for iOS and Android, along with a dedicated website. Additionally, xAI recently unveiled the SuperGrok plan, offering perks like unlimited image generation and early access to new features.
