Adobe has been on a quest to attract users to its platform for their AI needs. The company in April launched a redesigned Firefly web app that lets users use Adobe’s own Firefly image- and video-generation models as well as third-party models.

Now, it is releasing a Firefly app on both iOS and Android that lets people use all of its models as well as models from OpenAI (GPT image generation), Google (Imagen 3 and Veo 2), and Flux (Flux 1.1 Pro).

Mobile Apps Bring Full Firefly Features to Creative Workflows

Similar to the web version, the new mobile apps allow users to create images or videos from text prompts and transform still images into videos. They also offer tools like generative fill for editing specific parts of an image and generative expand to enlarge visuals. Adobe Creative Cloud users can begin a project on the Firefly mobile app and save it to the cloud for continued work via the web or desktop versions.

It has also broadened support for additional third-party models, now including Flux.1 Kontext by Black Forest Labs, Ideogram 3.0 by Ideogram, and Runway’s Gen-4 Image.

Adobe is also enhancing its collaborative whiteboard tool, Adobe Canvas, by adding video generation capabilities. Users can now create videos using both Adobe’s own models and those developed by other companies.

According to Adobe, users have generated over 24 billion media assets using Firefly models to date. The company also noted that its AI-powered features have played a key role in boosting first-time subscriptions by 30% from the previous quarter.
