Aurzen, an entertainment technology brand, has introduced a unique twist on the pico projector. Instead of needing a separate tripod, the Zip features a tri-fold design that unfolds into a Z shape, offering convenient positioning.

The designers explain that a “challenging camping experience” inspired the Zip, highlighting the need for improvement due to weak network signals, unstable brackets, and complicated setups. While larger projectors often include built-in stands, compact, pocket-sized models typically rely on separate tripods. Aurzen’s design takes a different path, offering a self-contained, all-in-one solution.

Innovative Design with World’s Thinnest HD Optical Engine

However, the projector’s top section features the world’s thinnest HD optical engine, incorporating the smallest DLP chip. This connects to a middle section housing “ultra-thin stereo speakers” with a 1-watt output each. A second aluminum hinge links to a non-slip base that holds the unit’s battery.

The projector’s front section features time-of-flight “zero-lag” autofocus and auto keystone correction for a hassle-free setup. Its compact size—measuring just 3.31 x 3.07 x 1.02 inches (84 x 78 x 26 mm) when folded and weighing 9.88 oz (280 g)—limits its brightness to 100 ANSI lumens, while it offers a native resolution of 720p instead of Full HD.

Built-In Gyro and Wireless Mirroring for Effortless Viewing

Moreover, it includes a built-in gyro for seamless vertical display orientation, making it ideal for viewing TikTok or Instagram Reels without the landscape letterboxing effect. The Zip doesn’t require dedicated Wi-Fi, instead offering AirLink wireless screen mirroring compatible with iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows devices.

Its 5,000-mAh battery provides up to 1.5 hours of playback on a single charge and supports 24-W fast charging via USB-C.

Aurzen Debuts the Zip at CES 2025 with Kickstarter Launch

Aurzen unveiled the Zip at CES 2025 in Las Vegas while simultaneously launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund its production. Early bird pricing starts at $249, offering a 38% discount on the projected retail price. Like any crowdfunding project, the campaign carries inherent risks, but since it has already secured funding, it expects to begin shipping in March.

To conclude, optional accessories include a CastPlay wireless dongle for HDMI connectivity with devices like TV boxes and gaming consoles, a magnetic charging stand, and a dual-sided magnetic mount. More details can be found in the video below.
