On Thursday, Reddit introduced new tools aimed at simplifying user participation on its platform. These features are designed to help users discover relevant communities, ensure their posts comply with guidelines, and better understand how to engage across the site.

The updates aim to improve the posting experience, especially for newer users unfamiliar with Reddit’s structure or where to share their content.

Helping Users Find the Right Audience with Community Suggestions

One key addition is “Community Suggestions,” which assists users in finding the right subreddit for their posts. When creating a post, users will see a “Pick a Community” dropdown with subreddit recommendations based on their content, helping them connect with the most relevant audience.

Reddit is also introducing a “Post Check” feature to help users ensure their posts comply with subreddit rules before publishing. This tool aims to prevent accidental rule violations that could lead to post removals.

Prevent Rule Violations with Post Check

Users can access Post Check by clicking the wand icon in the lower right corner of the post composer. The tool will then highlight any content that may conflict with subreddit guidelines, allowing users to make necessary edits before posting.

Reddit is introducing a new feature that lets users repost content to a different subreddit if their original post is removed for violating community rules. When a post is taken down, users will receive a prompt suggesting an alternative subreddit where they can share their content instead.

Guidance for Meeting Community Participation Requirements

Additionally, if users choose a community to post in but don’t meet its participation requirements, Reddit will now provide guidance on how they can qualify. For example, if a user lacks the minimum karma needed to contribute, Reddit may notify them and suggest earning more by engaging in posts and comments across the platform.

Reddit has also enhanced its “Post Insights” feature, enabling users to track their post performance more effectively. Users can now view data on views, upvotes, shares, and other engagement metrics over time.

By analyzing this information, Reddit users can identify what resonates with their audience and adjust their posting strategies accordingly.

According to the company, these new features are now available globally on both mobile and desktop.
