Spotify is introducing a new “Upcoming Releases” hub to keep users updated on albums set to drop soon, the company announced Wednesday. The hub offers personalized recommendations based on each user’s listening habits.

Spotify’s New Hub Boosts Music Discovery and Artist Visibility with Personalized Recommendations and Countdown Features

The new hub will improve music discovery by providing users with personalized recommendations for upcoming albums that match their tastes. It also helps listeners stay updated on anticipated releases by making pre-saving quick and easy. For artists, the hub offers greater visibility for their upcoming projects and better exposure for their Countdown Pages, including merch and tour details.

Additionally, Spotify is launching Countdown Charts on its Spotify and Spotify for Artists social media accounts across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X. These charts will highlight the top 10 global Countdowns with the most pre-saves and will be refreshed weekly on Wednesdays.

This announcement follows recent updates Spotify has made to its app, adding new features over the past few weeks. Earlier this month, the streaming service revamped its app to give users greater control over their listening experience and recommendations, introducing improvements for managing the Queue, current playback, playlist creation, and more.

Additionally, after a U.S. judge ruled that Apple must stop charging commissions on purchases made through iPhone apps, Spotify has launched the ability for users to buy individual audiobooks directly within the app, along with options to view pricing details and access external payment links.
